Founder trustee

Mrs. Kasturi Shoury, the founder trustee of Indiranagar Cambridge School, was a lady of undaunted courage and great vision. She was born in Tamil Nadu on the 7th of May 1950 and was brought up in Mangalore. Her marriage to Mr. K M Shoury brought her to Bangalore. For Mrs Kasturi Shoury, small aim in life was indeed a crime. She knew that she had to go and do beyond her routine job with Department of Post & Telegraph and make her contribution to the society. What better way to do this than imparting quality education.

Mrs. Kasturi Shoury wanted to cater to the lower middle class by providing them with an English Medium School. Her dream took shape in 1979. Mrs. Shoury, started LKG with 7 students and 2 teachers in a small rented out room in Tippasandra. She succeeded in striking a fine balance between her night shift job with Dept of P & T, her school during the day and being a loving mother to her three sons. She believed that she had a goal to achieve, no obstacles, big or small could deter her from getting to where she had to. With sheer dedication, she worked towards fulfilling her dream.

Year after year, progress was made in the form of an additional class. In the year 1986, this site where our school is standing tall was allotted. The school had a first batch of Class X pass outs in the year 1989. Mrs Kasturi Shoury had a tremendous zest for life with “never say never” attitude. She was always a go getter, a bundle of energy with a ready helping hand. She was generous and was always there for people who needed her. She had no other competition but herself, because she firmly believed that competition was among equals. It is very unfortunate that Mrs. Kasturi Shoury is not in our midst but she had led a life from which all of us have so much to learn and inculcate and this school which is her soul continues living her dream.
